Tell FEMA you don't want a nuclear reactor in Maryland

We need to show FEMA that there are a lot of Marylanders who are concerned about the evacuation plans and many people who oppose the construction of a new nuclear reactor.

Letter	Mr. Hammons, I am writing to express my concern about Constellation Energy's plans to build a new nuclear reactor in Southern Maryland. Nuclear power is an inherently dangerous energy source. The highly toxic radioactive waste is dangerous for thousands of years and an accident or terrorist attack would put millions at risk. In the event of an accident or terrorist attack, the Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge would become a serious evacuation bottleneck, there are no backup sirens, and emergency responder attrition and other important factors are not adequately considered in the evacuation plan. Wind turbines, solar panels and improvements in energy efficiency don't require evacuation plans. Instead of investing in risky nuclear power, we support safer alternatives to meet Maryland's energy needs. I hope that you will take my concerns to heart. The flaws in the current evacuation plan will only be compounded if an additional reactor is built, and I urge you to encourage Constellation Energy to pursue safer ways to provide energy to Maryland.
